The Super Bowl didn't disappoint fans this season, as it lived up to its hype with the battle of the Indianapolis Colts and the New Orleans Saints. It was a hard-hitting, smash mouth game that left players lying on their backs and referees struggling to break up fights.

The New Orleans Saints, who were playing in their first Super Bowl game in franchise history, fought until the last whistle in a game that will easily go down as one of the most memorable games in NFL history. Saints quarterback Drew Brees played an outstanding game, passing for 288 yards and 2 touchdowns to lead the Saints to their first ever Super Bowl victory. Brees seemed very poised in the game and stuck with a balanced game plan with a conservative running but ferocious passing attack on offense. Running backs Pierre Thomas and Reggie Bush combined for 55 yards which proved to be enough to a victory over the Colts, who had only lost two games all season.

The Indianapolis Colts also played a very promising game and seemed to have the victory lined up early before the first half was even over. With the Saints down by 10, analysts predicted that the game would be tough for them to win, as there has only been one team in NFL history to overcome a deficit of 10 points in a Super Bowl game. However, a crucial mistake by Colts quarterback Peyton Manning put the game out of reach late in the fourth quarter when he threw an interception that was returned for a touchdown. That touchdown gave the Saints a 14 point lead with a little over 3 minutes left in the game. Manning threw for 333 yards, but had one game changing interception. Running Back Joseph Addai rushed for 77 yards and a touchdown in the game.

Outside of the game, the Super Bowl experience was a great one this year. The half time show was really exceptional and the commercials kept viewers laughing. The funniest commercials seemed to be the Doritos commercials and the Dodge Charger commercial. This Super Bowl really seemed to be very energized and exciting.

Even though the Colts lost the game, they played a very good game and fought until the last whistle. Although Manning couldn't close the deal, the Colts really have something to be proud of. They had an incredible season and played a heart-felt Super Bowl game. Drew Brees tied the record for completions in a Super Bowl game and won the MVP award. Congratulations New Orleans.
