Hark! The holiday months are almost upon us!
Many people know that the holidays mean that special time where friends, family, and loved ones come together to be with one another. While giving gifts to your friends and relatives is a big part of Christmas for many, it shouldn't be one thing college students everywhere dread when they hear the first Christmas song play early in November.
That's right. I said it. Giving gifts doesn't have to be scary!
It's obvious that while college students are away at college, most might not or are not able to keep jobs over the fall semester. This means that once Christmas rolls around, many students' wallets look nearly empty.
But don't worry! There are plenty of gifts that don't cost a fortune that still show you care! Here are just a few tips and tricks you can follow when checking off your Christmas gift list this year.
First and foremost, let me stress that sales and discounts are your friend! Most all stores have great sales before Christmas so keep your eyes open! Sometimes it's worth waiting for the item to go on sale before buying it, and don't worry, the person you're giving the gift to won't know you got it 20 percent off!
Also, always look for great deals such as buy one get one half off or buy one get one free promotions…also known as BOGOS. Most stores have holiday sales going on that you can purchase two items for the price of one! Why not get her two of her favorite body lotions instead of just one? Or his favorite sweater with a half price t-shirt to go underneath. Think
Don't forget gift cards! Know a friend who is a movie fanatic? Why not grab them a $10 movie card so they can rent a few movies at their leisure? Have any friends who can't seem to function without their morning coffee? Get them a gift card to their favorite coffee shop!
Plenty of stores sell gift cards you can purchase in five dollar increments, which is a perfect amount to give out to friends. Trust me, five or ten dollars doesn't seem like much, but it will make a nice gift to a roommate or a coworker.
