The event, which began at 10 p.m., was well attended. While drag was not required, many students got into the spirit of the event, and the results, occasionally hilarious, were all in great fun. The DJ spun top forty, hip-hop and R&B music for the revelers to dance to. While the floor was packed, occasionally the foyer was too. People sprawled out to catch their breaths after dancing frantically inside. With papers, projects and exams looming over the students, the Drag Ball was a great excuse to take a break from it all and let loose.
All told, there were more than 100 students and guests attending the ball. The crowd began to thin after 1 a.m., as the toll of dancing and excitement began to show. The group of students danced until they could dance no longer and went out into the night, laughter on their lips and a twinkle in their eyes. This event, bringing together diverse students, was an obvious success.
